Madeline looked herself in the mirror once more before leaving her room. She brushed her fingers through her hair again and ruffled her sharp, asymmetrical bangs a final time. She twirled around again, to make sure she didn’t have anything sticking out or visible when it shouldn’t be. She needed to make sure she looked… good for once. After Kennedy had kissed her, she had gotten all… fluttery inside. She’d only felt like that with one other person, and that person had a girlfriend or was being distant… whichever one, it made her unavailable. And Kennedy had seemed to show up right when she’d been lowest. Madeline walked over to her door and walked through it, shutting it quietly behind her, so as to not wake her sleeping roommate. She slowly walked down the hallway to Kennedy’s room, carefully putting one foot in front of the other to be as silent as possible. When she got to Kennedy’s room she hesitated before knocking on the door, but then shook her head and tapped her knuckles against the wood anyways, waiting for her new friend to open the door.
